Statement on the Election
With the certification of Howard County’s election results, I’m confident in the ability to declare that I have been elected to one of the Delegate seats representing District 9A!
This was nothing if not a team effort, and I am so grateful to the many donors and volunteers who worked so hard on the campaign: knocking doors, writing postcards, making phone calls, and covering polls.
I also want to thank the Board of Elections for the incredible job they did running the election and counting mail in and provisional ballots for days afterwards.
Teamwork was critical to our success. I am so grateful to Delegate Courtney Watson, Senator Katie Fry Hester, and my fellow Democratic Delegate nominee Dr. Chao Wu for their help. I am honored to be joining such a strong and effective team in Annapolis. While it is too early to say for sure, I am cautiously optimistic that Dr. Wu will be joining us in Annapolis as well. Montgomery County still has a significant number of votes to count, and what’s outstanding looks favorable for our race. This year especially, we are grateful for, and respectful of, every single vote and citizen who made their voice heard.
I began this campaign in the 2018 election cycle with the goal of representing each and every constituent in this district and fostering a climate of respect and care for one another, as we work to continuously improve our beautiful district. My goal today remains the same.
I am honored by the trust and confidence you have placed in me as your voice in Annapolis. I promise I won’t let you down!
