Del. Natalie Ziegler Honored with Inaugural Otto Award

Wednesday, August 5, 2026: The Maryland Grain Producers Association presented Del. Natalie Ziegler with the inaugural Charles J. Otto Legislator of the Year Award at the Maryland Commodity Classic on July 23. The award recognizes legislators who show exceptional leadership and commitment to Maryland agriculture and is named for longtime farmer and 14-year House of Delegates member Charles Otto.

As chairwoman of the House Agriculture and Aquaculture Subcommittee and co-chair of the House Rural Caucus, Ziegler has become one of the legislature's leading voices for farmers - drawing on her own experience managing her family's Carroll Mill Farm in Howard County since 1989.

"I am truly so honored by this," Ziegler said. "There's still a lot of work to do and we'll keep pressing forward."
